What do you like best?

I firmly believe in coaching my employees, both informally on a day to day basis, but also formal, scheduled coaching sessions. The WideAngle application allows me to stay in touch with my remote employees with the weekly briefs, and also hold both of us accountable for discussing the really important things during our scheduled 1-on-1 meetings.

The WideAngle team is very responsive to questions, always willing to help, and has worked to incorporate some of our requests into the product as they continue to improve it.

What do you dislike?

Right now the metrics are only configurable by week instead of user selectable time periods, but that is something they are working to change in the short term.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give the WideAngle team a chance, you won’t regret it.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Reduce the number of ad-hoc e-mails and phone calls back and forth, key issues can be seen by both the sales rep and the manager in the weekly brief. I was also looking to bring some structure to the coaching process and a level of accountability for both sides. As a manager, I feel I have a much better feel for what the team is working on and struggling with. For the sales reps, they know they can formally ask for help on something and we will discuss it.
